Faculty Awarded Fulbright Research Grant to Jordan




Dr. Zohreh Sullivan, Professor Emerita, Department of English, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Award for the 2013-14 academic year in Amman, Jordan, where she will be teaching at the University of Jordan and conducting research for a project called Writers and the Battlefield of History.  The project will reflect on how contemporary Arab writers think through problems of location, dislocation, and historical loss.  Congratulations to Dr. Sullivan! 



Faculty Organize Workshop for Solar Energy Development in Cairo



Three CSAMES affiliated faculty recently visited Egypt and Jordan to explore research partnerships to help address global energy problems by using nanotechnology.  Professors Munir Nayfeh, Irfan Ahmad, and Saif Taher are collaborating with several U.S. institutions and The National Research Center in Cairo to organize a workshop and symposium on nanotechnology for the development of advanced solar and energy devices.
